Originally a flamenco player, Paco de Lucia helped to expand that music, folding in its complex harmonics and fluid sense of phrase and understatement. He expanded jazz by weaving in flamenco's more complex rhythms, organic melodies, and timbral slips. This 17-cut collection details de Lucia's development from the beginning of his second decade as a leader in 1965 to his more experimental and expansive period through the late '90s when he had come full circle and returned to flamenco properly. De Lucia's music was always rooted in flamenco even at its most adventurous; that thread was always audible, and this set proves that in a fascinating way. The music here can be jarring in its brilliance at times, but it is always clearly delineated and its purpose is direct, full of nuance, beauty, and fiery precision, as well as plenty of soul.

A fantastic meeting of 3 extraordinary guitarists is one of the most influential of all Live Acoustic guitar albums. This 1981 album by Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia recorded at The Warfield Theatre on December 5, 1980, in San Francisco. All tracks are live except for the last track, "Guardian Angel", which is the opening theme from a song that appears on McLaughlin's 1978 Electric Dreams album. This marked the triumph of the acoustic guitar trio as the first avant-garde style of flamenco jazz was forged. Their debut recording became a landmark recording that surpassed the two million mark in sales. This is an Audiophile Must-Have.

In 1959, a family friend went to the home of Paco de Lucía and Pepe de Lucía where he made several recordings with a Grundig TK46 tape recorder. This tape disappeared in 1967 and, after a long search process, was rediscovered in 2022, when a restoration process started using AI tools. The historical value of this recording is incalculable and it gathers in 21 pieces an anthology of flamenco where most of its variants are represented (tangos, soleá, seguiriyas, bulerías…). It is, in short, the definitive recording to illustrate the transition from classical flamenco to modern flamenco as we know it today.

The classic album originally released in 1969 by the late, great Flamenco singer, one of ten he recorded in collaboration with guitarist Paco de Lucia. This is regarded as one of the diamond recordings in both of the artist's respective discographies and is treasured by many a Flamenco music fan.

A limited edition of the Camarуn de la Isla 'Integral' box-set. It represents a veritable journey through his life and singing. It includes 21 original albums. The first 17 of them were made in recording studios by Camaron from 1969 to 1992 while he was alive. "A generally calmer atmosphere can be noticed in this album". The second album of Camaron de la Isla, with the special collaboration of Paco de Lucia, was released at the start of the new decade. The graphic design of the first album was maintained, with photos of both of them and similar headings, but in this one Perez de Leуn went even further and placed the pair face to face in a position similar to the Mountain of Olives, complete with cross and an apocalyptic horizon in red tones. The yellowed faces of the performers made them seem as if they had just suffered an attack of severe hepatitis. Ole'! Leуn.

John McLaughlin & Paco de Lucia: Paco and John - Live at Montreux 1987 it's truly a shame that, all too often, artists with diverse careers become pigeon-holed, defined by the primary genre in which they first achieved notoriety. Take guitarist John McLaughlin, for instance. Ask most jazz fans about him and what will first come out of most of their mouths will include either the words "fusion," "jazz-rock" and/or Miles Davis, in any permutation/combination (not that there's anything wrong with that). Those a little further in the know might also be aware of his longstanding investigation into the nexus of eastern and western music with his Indo-collaboration, Shakti.
