A super rare master tape left on the legendary independent disco label "STAR BIRTH RECORDS" in California, founded in the late 70's by Cecil McCreary, an African-American from Nashville, Tennessee. This time, BOOGIE TIMES (France), which continues to lead the scene as a global supply label of rare disco sound sources, was discovered. A miracle label anthology consisting of a total of 14 songs, including rare 12 "singles and 7" singles recorded over the 10 years from 1978 to 1988, and 7 unreleased unreleased tracks. !

Ruff Endz, the hip-hop soul duo of David "Davinch" Chance and Dante "Chi" Jordan, formed in Baltimore in the mid-'90s. Named after their trouble finding a record deal, the group came up in West Baltimore, originally part of a quartet. Davinch and Chi soon found chemistry between their voices, and struck out on their own by 1994. They recorded a demo tape with producer Troy Patterson, but didn't find success until another recording project, helmed by Oji Pierce, was heard by executives at Epic. With productions featuring Pierce, Manuel Seal, and Nokio, Ruff Endz' debut album Love Crimes dropped in August 2000. They wouldn't follow it up for almost two years, bringing Someone to Love You to the public in the spring of 2002.

The Bailes Brothers' recording career stretched over quite a few years and several labels after they made their first discs in 1945, and included two separate stints for King. The first, a brief one consisting of a couple dozen recordings done in Nashville in the last half of 1946, are thoroughly documented on Bear Family's companion CD to this collection, Remember Me: The Legendary King Sessions 1946. By the time they came back to King in 1953, the act was fading a bit, not having recorded since 1947 (Johnnie Bailes did a stint in prison in the intervening years). For their 1953 King sessions, the ever-changing Bailes Brothers lineup featured just two brothers, guitarist/lead singer Walter and mandolinist/tenor vocalist Johnnie, backed by Lambert Arend on steel guitar and Big Tiny Smith on bass.

We Know How To Boogie’ is a joyful romp through the finest forgotten dance-floor disco and soul from the 70’s and 80’s. Compiled by Italian brothers Gino and Federico Grasso. Bona fide ‘disco dons’, collecting music for over 30 years and supplying the likes Dimitri From Paris, Sadar Bahar and Volcov with obscure gems. Gino is a familiar face behind the decks in his hometown of Bologna and across Italy, while Federico’s DJing outings are more occasional. Music, passion and knowledge has seen Gino play underground clubs the world over, including Le Souk in NYC and the Bussey Building and Brilliant Corners in London.
