The guitarist, a Toronto native, played with Prince as part of 3RDEYEGIRL and the New Power Generation. She was also working with him in a fusion jazz collective that he set aside to concentrate on his solo piano performances before his death in April 2016. And Prince would have served as producer on Diamonds & Dynamite, an eight-track set that takes Grantis back to the improvisational fusion roots she was exploring before joining the Prince universe.

La sera del 10 aprile 1991 il traghetto di linea "Moby Prince", in partenza dal porto di Livorno e diretto a Olbia, entrò in rotta di collisione con la petroliera "Agip Abruzzo", all'ancora in rada, sfondandone la fiancata di dritta e provocando un incendio in cui persero la vita centoquaranta persone. La causa dell'incidente venne attribuita fin da subito a un errore del comandante della "Moby Prince", morto nel disastro, e a una fitta nebbia improvvisa. Ma sulla plancia del traghetto quella sera c'era Ugo Chessa, uno dei migliori comandanti in circolazione, e la visibilità era buona..

I had a lot of high expectations for Prince Lestat the second I heard about it… and I have to tell you, the result far out weighted those expectations. As a fam of the chronicles this book bright so many things full circle for me. I loved every page. Obviously I couldn't put it down and read it in a marathon 12 hour sitting. Everyone we love or hate is in this book, we see glimmers of our old Brat Prince as well as an evolved and slightly better behaved Lestat.

Someday My Prince Will Come is a worthy salute from Hank Jones on piano, his brother Elvin Jones on drums and Richard Davis on bass. The session is Hank's final collaboration with his brother, who died in May of 2004. The somewhat conservative collection of ten songs commands more respect than awe, but Elvin fittingly delivers many of the album's sharpest and freshest moments.
