"Quietly Cold" the title of this album may be somewhat misleading, as the music is neither as quiet nor as cold as it suggests. Intense songs, a girlish-fresh, innocent-sounding voice, the concise flute -playing of the bandleader and a compelling, swinging groove: these are the outstanding features of this evocative, drum-less quartet.

There are also clichés in diehard jazz circles, which are at the most disproved, but nevertheless persevere. One of them thinks that the woman in Jazz has at best a meaning as a singer or as a pianist, but not on a wind instrument.

Das Leben Albrecht von Graefes war von großen Höhen und Tiefen geprägt, so dass es noch heute – 150 Jahre nach seinem Ableben – berührt. Neben dem frühen Tod an Tuberkulose mit 42 Jahren, dem Verlust zweier Kinder im ersten Lebensjahr und dem frühen Verlust von Mutter und insbesondere Vater stehen für ihre Zeit großartige klinische und wissenschaftliche Erfolge. Albrecht von Graefe kann daher zu Recht als Begründer der modernen Ophthalmologie und als „augenärztlicher Lehrer des Erdkreises“ angesehen werden.

Jack London’s THE SEA WOLF, a big german history thriller made for television, was composed by award winning composer Marcel Barsotti. The story: a young man is taken aboard a seal-hunting vessel helmed by the cruel captain Wolf Larsen. The soundtrack was remastered and re-released on the new label TUNESforMOVIES. The story: a scientist discovers an ancient code in the Bible that predicts historic events but is hunted down. Now it's up to his daughter to protect the code from falling into the wrong hands (imdb). The score was composed and arranged by Marcel Barsotti from 2008.
