2017 release. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Tegan and Sara's classic 2007 album, The Con, Warner Bros. Records releases The Con X: Covers. The album features 14 of Tegan and Sara's favorite artists, each interpreting a song from the original album. Tegan says, "As the 10th anniversary of The Con approached, Sara and I started to brainstorm meaningful ways to celebrate what was easily one of our most important records. Almost immediately we established that a tour playing all 14 songs in a more intimate and stripped-down arrangement would be memorable for our diehard fans.

Although identical twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin first appeared in the music scene in the late '90s playing the kind of folk-rock and folk-punk more associated with other Lilith Fair (in which they participated) artists of the time, by the time 2007 rolled around they had moved into much poppier territory. It was a progression, to be sure, from This Business of Art to their fourth Vapor full-length – one that can be heard in the time spent on production, the louder guitars – but that still may not prepare listeners for The Con.

The first album by Sara Chenal and Jean-Pierre Ferey was devoted to French women composers (Violon au féminin, Skarbo, 2015); it gave a prominent place to relatively short-form genre pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Sara Levy was the daughter of a wealthy Jewish banking family and was Wilhelm Friedemann Bach's favourite harpsichordist.

Stumbling into a recording contract right out of college not only came with big management and an even bigger booking agency it also came with what felt like big responsibility.
