Gabriel Tacchino, a humble figure of the piano was one of the greatest instrumentalists of his generation: awarded in various international prizes, noticed by Karajan who contributed to his recognition, close friend and disciple of Poulenc, the music of whom he recorded intensely… This homage album (50 tracks, four and a half hours of music) includes his most notable recordings, from Beethoven and Rachmaninov concertos conducted by André Cluytens, four-hands pieces with Jacques Février or Aldo Ciccolini, lieder with Mady Mesplé… This collection of course includes solo works by his mentor Francis Poulenc, and a very rare excerpt of his Mozart sonatas recording, making its digital debut!
