Johann Sebastian Bach has long been a guiding star for the bassoonist Burak Ozdemir. In his native Istanbul he regularly sang as a boy chorister in Bach’s choral works, and as a member of Early Music ensembles he later played the bassoon in all the composer’s great sacred vocal works, from the Passions to the Christmas oratorio.

Erik Wøllo’s new digital-only electronic/ambient release is a 2015 live performance at the late-night Star’s End radio show on WXPN in Philadelphia. This is a long-form, introspective 60-minute piece with thirteen sections of enigmatic textural components organically flowing into each other. I see my compositions as images and feelings, both of light and dark, in my own secret garden. Dreams and truths are woven together in harmony.I want my music to give the listener a feeling of redemption before life and its secrets.
In my two previous productions Silent Dreams ( 2009 ) and Silent Moves ( 2010 ) published by Naxos I have been trying to convey the feeling of " my own secret garden ". In these recordings the cellist Paula Gustafsson had a prominent role as a soloist together with musicians from the Gothenburg Symphony. In this series of productions my new record has been named " Silent Waves ". I am delighted that my daughter Amelie is part of this production as a solo violinist.

Here we have two contemporary Danish composers from Dacapo label: Morten Olsen and Poul Ruders. Olsen’s (b. 1961) music is complex yet appealing, bewildering yet approachable, and as difficult to categorize as those apparent paradoxes might suggest. In his works Ruders (b. 1949) has incorporated features of minimalism, Medieval and Renaissance-era styles, popular music sources, various tonal and atonal elements, and has even developed a system of shaping and organizing pitch.

SILENT CIRCLE (silent circle, as the band members call themselves) could not complain about a lack of initial success. "Hide Away - Man is Comin '" was the name of first song of the three Göttingen but the second hit single was the key to success. "Touch In The Night" reached at a rapid pace, the Top 20 in Germany and was played almost in all European dance temples. The third single "Stop The Rain" and the ballad "Love Is Just A Word" were more successful extractions from her debut album No.1. This was followed by Peter Illman's TV show "Peters Pop Show" where was presented for the first time "Time For Love".
