In the wake of tramp-Voyager, on the narrow pathway of stardust, upon the steps of brave explorer and pioneer we rush into depths of other spaces. Charming by its majesty, expanse widens in front of us: the ocean of silence and calm, eternity of countless light years of flight. Stars - rare violators of the gravitational quiet - flash sometimes on observation screen, separated by days and months of traveling. Infinity swirls by nebulae and currents of radiation hides in time folds, appears sometimes among the people and disappears immediately.

The Silent World (1956)
The Silent World is noted as one of the first films to use underwater cinematography to show the ocean depths in color. Its title derives from Cousteau's 1953 book The Silent World: A Story of Undersea Discovery and Adventure. The film was shot aboard the ship Calypso. A team of divers shot 25 kilometers of film over two years in the Mediterranean Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, of which 2.5 kilometers were included in the finished documentary.

This is an exciting one! The 1916 Universal version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was and is deservedly praised for its stunning and innovative underwater photography and now we get to see it in HD!Reviews moviessilently:The film features a score by Orlando Perez Rosso performed by a small ensemble and I am not going to beat around the bush: I loved it! It tastefully balances itself between vintage and modern and I detected hints of Debussy, Vaughan Williams and Mussorgsky in the sound of it. It enhances the nautical mood, papers over issues with the at-times flawed screenplay and adds heft and pathos in all the right places. This is exactly what I want in a silent film score and I hope to hear more of Mr. Rosso’s work soon.
