Simon & Garfunkel's first masterpiece, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme was also the first album on which the duo, in tandem with engineer Roy Halee, exerted total control from beginning to end, right down to the mixing, and it is an achievement akin to the Beatles' Revolver or the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album, and just as personal and pointed as either of those records at their respective bests. After the frantic rush to put together an LP in just three weeks that characterized the Sounds of Silence album early in 1966, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme came together over a longer gestation period of about three months, an uncommonly extended period of recording in those days, but it gave the duo a chance to develop and shape the songs the way they wanted them.

Bookends is the fourth studio album by the American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. Produced by Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel and Roy Halee, the album was released on April 3, 1968, in the United States by Columbia Records. The duo had risen to fame two years prior with the albums Sounds of Silence and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme and the soundtrack album for the 1967 film The Graduate. Bookends is a concept album that explores a life journey from childhood to old age. Side one of the album marks successive stages in life, the theme serving as bookends to the life cycle. Side two largely consists of previously-released singles and of unused material for The Graduate soundtrack. Simon's lyrics concern youth, disillusionment, relationships, old age, and mortality. Much of the material was crafted alongside producer John Simon (no relation), who joined the recording when Paul Simon suffered from writer's block.

Simon McBride has quickly become one of the most celebrated guitarists of recent years. In 2023, he stepped into the limelight as the new guitarist for Deep Purple, taking a step that sounds like something out of a rock'n'roll fairytale: from the small stages of the pubs in his native Belfast to the biggest arenas in the world.

Just do it: That was the motto when Simon Höfele and Frank Dupree decided to devote themselves to a red hot iron. They are hardly allowed to really live out their repertoire: the gulf between classical and jazz is still too big, the prejudices too insurmountable, the musical approach too different. They did it anyway and, together with close musical friends, put together an album that doesn't want to show any opposites, but rather creates musical connections and puts people in a good mood.

"Spy" is singer-songwriter Carly Simon's 9th album, and 8th studio album, released in 1979. It is also her last album for Elektra Records. The title of the album is a tribute to Anaïs Nin, whose quote “I am an international spy in the house of love”, is written across the top on the inside jacket. Simon dedicated the album to producer Arif Mardin, in which she wrote in the liner notes, "Dedicated to Arif who is himself fantastic." Although "Spy" did not yield any major hit singles, "Vengeance" (which features actor Tim Curry on backing vocals) earned Simon a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female in early 1980, the first year to feature this new category. The song peaked at #48 on the Billboard Pop singles chart, and Simon later included it on her Anthology album in 2002. The album also features a track entitled "Never Been Gone", which has gone on to become a fan favorite, as well as one of Simon's personal favorite songs of her own. In 2009, she would release an album entitled after the track.

"Spoiled Girl" is the 12th studio album by the American singer-songwriter Carly Simon, released in 1985. Recorded with a variety of producers in New York, this was Simon's only album for Epic Records. It was commercially unsuccessful when originally released, peaking at #88 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart, but has gone on to become a cult favorite within Simon's back catalogue. The album produced two singles, "Tired of Being Blonde" and "My New Boyfriend", with the former making the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
