New York Slick was an album released by jazz bassist Ron Carter in 1980. Carter is joined by Art Farmer, Hubert Laws, Billy Cobham, J.J. Johnson, and Kenny Barron, along with Ralph MacDonald and Jay Berliner in "Tierra Española".

Collector's Item From The San Francisco Scene is a 1971 compilation album by Grace Slick & The Great Society. It compiles two albums released on Columbia in the late 1960's, 1967's Conspicuous Only In Its Absence and 1968's How It Was: Collector's Item Vol. 2. Both albums were compilations of what Slick recorded with The Great Society before she joined the Jefferson Airplane. Collector's Item From The San Francisco Scene simply compiled both of those albums as one collection. This CD was pressed in the late 1980's or early 1990's

Slick (1977) marked Eddie Kendricks' final association with Motown Records' subsidiary Tamla. So, he went back to his old Motor City stomping grounds hooking up with former collaborator Leonard Caston and a few of the first-generation Funk Brothers including Eddie Willis (guitar), Robert White (guitar), Uriel Jones (drums), and Richard "Pistol" Allen (drums). While certainly not a full-fledged return to his glory days, Kendricks' sweet tenor hasn't lost a bit of its charm. Judging by the strength and command he exhibits throughout, his precious falsetto has not failed him either. Nowhere is that better displayed than the funky and danceable opener "Something Shady (Is Going On)" or the retro doo wop "Baby."

SLICK! - Live at Oil Can Harry’s is a never-before-released recording from jazz guitar great Grant Green captured live on September 5, 1975 at a popular club in Vancouver, BC Canada called Oil Can Harry’s. Featuring a primarily Detroit-based band with Emmanuel Riggins (father of drummer Karriem Riggins) on electric piano, Ronnie Ware on bass, drummer Greg “Vibrations” Williams (Jack McDuff, Lou Donaldson) and Gerald Izzard on percussion, Slick!’s centerpiece is the over 30 minute funk exploration medley of Stanley Clarke’s “Vulcan Princess,” “Skin Tight” by the Ohio Players, Bobby Womack’s “Woman’s Gotta Have It,” “Boogie On Reggae Woman” by Stevie Wonder and “For the Love of Money” by the O’Jays.

Guitarist and band-leader Ryan Fourt has been a fixture on the Colorado jazz scene for over a decade and steps into his own with his second release, Big Slick. The album features Fourt's compositional prowess as well as his ear for re-working standards both old and new. Alongside Fourt on his latest effort are fellow Denver musicians Peter Sommer, Annie Booth, Matt Smiley, and Ed Breazeale, all of who shine throughout the album and bring Fourt's music to life with and elegance and precision that has become a hallmark of the "Colorado Sound" - Ryan currently performs around the country and is a lecturer at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
