At the age of 90, Les Paul issued his first newly recorded album in 27 years (the last one being his collaboration with Chet Atkins, Chester & Lester, in 1978), and it's a classic rock guitar version of the Frank Sinatra Duets projects, which is to say that, on most tracks, Paul is joined by superstar friends, most of them guitarists, who have overdubbed their parts elsewhere. The list of guitarists is truly stupendous – Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Rick Derringer, Peter Frampton, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Buddy Guy, Steve Miller, Joe Perry, Keith Richards, Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi, Neal Schon, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

One of Ray Barretto's more erratic albums of the 1970s, Can You Feel It? is a collection of pop-jazz/crossover, fusion, and pop-soul that ranges from the exciting to the forgettable. Parts of this album find the conguero wasting his considerable talents on lesser material, but other parts find him letting loose and taking chances. "Whirlpool," "Daydreams," and the insistent "Confrontation" are solid fusion instrumentals that would have been worthy of Return to Forever, and "Sting Ray" has the type of catchy jazz-funk groove that would have worked on one of Joe Farrell's CTI dates of the 1970s.

The RIAS-Kammerchor Berlin and its chief conductor Justin Doyle present Handel’s Messiah, together with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and an all-British quartet of outstanding soloists, consisting of Julia Doyle (soprano), Tim Mead (countertenor), Thomas Hobbs (tenor) and Roderick Williams (bass). Messiah (1742) is not only Handel’s most famous work, but equally one of the cornerstones of British choral culture. Over the years, a tradition of mass performances full of pomp and circumstance took root, with the "Hallelujah" as a showstopper. This new period-instruments recording, however, aims to bring the piece back to the size and intimacy of the earliest performances.

Raymond Leppard was among the most important and prolific British conductors of the 20th century, identified for many years by his work with the English Chamber Orchestra. He was a scholar and a noted film music composer, and both as scholar and performer, he played a major role in the revival of Baroque music worldwide. Raymond John Leppard was born in London on August 11, 1927, but grew up in Bath. At Trinity College, Cambridge, he studied viola and harpsichord, the latter an unusual course at the time. While at Trinity College, he conducted choirs and the Cambridge Philharmonic Society, and after graduating in 1952, he gravitated toward conducting.
