Lonesome Drifter is the new album from GRAMMY Award-nominated artist Charley Crockett. Crockett co-produced the album alongside multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning musician and producer Shooter Jennings. Over the course of just 10 days, they cut 12 tracks live at the legendary Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, CA. Crockett’s Island Records debut is a culmination of all that has come before, with the same unapologetic spirit, die-hard work ethic, and no-nonsense honesty that has driven his artistry across his 14 previous studio albums. In the end, Lonesome Drifter takes stock of Charley’s road in the rearview as it paves a path into the future.

This box includes The Kinks' first seven LPs (The Kinks, Kinda Kinks, Kontroversy, Face To Face, Something Else, Village Green Preservation Society, and Arthur ) as well as three extra CD's collecting the EP's and remaining Mono material plus a 32 page, pop annual style book with new notes, rare photos, memorabilia, discographical information and more. The EP disc contains Kinksize Session, Kinksize Hits, Kweyt Kinks, and Dedicated Kinks while the final two discs contain various singles from around the world. Each CD is housed in a digipak, encased in a rigid Dansette style box to hold all the digipaks and book.

Miki Purnell recently made her notable recording debut with Swingin To The Sea. Musically, the CD is full of joy, high musicianship, versatility, infectious enthusiasm, and memorable singing. But when one considers that Miki is a fulltime doctor who practices in the San Diego area, it is particularly remarkable that her singing is so professional, fresh and inventive, never sounding like this is her second career. The music on Swingin To The Sea features arrangements worked out by pianist Tamir Hendelman, flutist Lori Bell, and Miki. learned a lot from him. In addition to Hendelman, Dave MacKay plays piano on his two compositions, Free and Like Me.

This is a wonderful, warm-hearted, and effortlessly virtuosic live recording by one of the finest living exponents of pre-bop small-ensemble jazz. With pianist Ray Kennedy and bassist Martin Pizzarelli (and on two songs joined by vocalist Grover Kemble), singer and guitarist John Pizzarelli runs through a generally lightweight but thoroughly charming set of standards, homages, funny stories, and the occasional original tune; the fast tunes are light and frothy, the ballads smooth and gentle, and even the moments that are less than utterly inspired work together with the album's highlights to create a very satisfying whole.

Thirty-one years and 27 albums in (not including compilations), urban contemporary jazz unit Spyro Gyra are playing with the funky inspiration and clever melodic and rhythmic invention that have made them synonymous with the genre, but that they haven't displayed on their own recordings for some time. This is not to say the quintet have ever been completely off their game. They know what they do, and do it extremely well – they can make smooth and groove-oriented records all day long – but the sheer edge and shifty, even knotty melodic ideas on "Good to Go-Go" feel adventurous in contrast to the records they've made since the beginning of the decade where they've fused smooth jazz to some Caribbean, Spanish, and other kinds of world music as well as written and recorded with pop vocalists.

The ninth studio album by KISS is, perhaps, most significant for being the band’s greatest misstep.
