The Gold of Naples (Italian: L'oro di Napoli) is a 1954 Italian comedy film directed by Vittorio De Sica and starring Sophia Loren, Silvana Mangano, Paolo Stoppa and Totò. This is a collection of 6 Napolitean episodes: a clown exploited by a gangster; an inconstant pizza seller loosing her husband's ring; the funeral of a dead child; the gambler Count Prospero B. defeated by a kid; the unexpected and unusual wedding of Teresa, a prostitute; the "professor" Ersilio Micci, a "wisdom seller".

Dorothy Gale is a simple girl living with her Uncle Henry in rural Kansas. In her spare time, she writes children’s books, based on the land of Oz created by her grandfather. Her mundane life is turned upside down when she receives an offer from a big New York agency to represent her books. She grabs her faithful dog Toto and her best friend Allen and heads to the Big Apple.

The king of Nogara dies, leaving behind a will naming one of his nieces as his successor. Will it be blonde and virtuous Isabella or evil, dark-haired Malva?
