From award-winning Australian/Sierra Leonean pianist Tonya Lemoh, an album of utterly enchanting solo piano music featuring works by Elena Kats-Chernin, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Florence Price, plus Robert Schumann’s iconic Scenes from Childhood.

Given Reynaldo Hahn’s high profile with the patrons of Paris’s pre-war artist salons, it’s not surprising that his original works for piano include a good number of short character pieces that exude charm.

The "An einsamer Quelle" project is the sequel to the "Sublime Idylle" CD which was released in 2018 by Klarthe. The project was dedicated to the works of Clara and Robert Schumann and already underlined the lyricism of the piano, notably with the op.39 lieder by Robert, adapted for the piano by Clara. For this new disc, the voice is once again in the spotlight, with transcriptions of the Lieder Morgen (1894) and Allerseelen (1885) arranged by Max Reger. And what could be more interesting than weaving a bond between Schumann, Strauss… and us! The Strauss who wrote his op.3 and op.9 in the 1880s is the same composer who, in 1948, would gratify us with his masterpiece "Vier Letzte Lieder" (Four last songs).

On 26 October 1986 Vladimir Horowitz gave his final recital in Chicago's Orchestra Hall. This is its world-premiere release on CD Deutsche Grammophon are privileged to be able to release one of his late concerts, from Chicago in 1986, where we hear him in his element, before a live audience.

The Swiss composer Émile Jaques-Dalcroze (1865–1950) is best remembered for his development of Eurhythmics, which teaches the appreciation of music through movement. But Jaques-Dalcroze, who studied with Delibes and Fauré in Paris and with Bruckner and Fuchs in Vienna, was a composer of considerable stature in his own right, with operas, cantatas and orchestral works among his substantial output. These piano works, all written in the 1890s, are generally lighter in style, showing the influence of Schumann and the salons of Paris.
