Romantic Adagios II is an interesting introduction to instrumental art music, though. Decca's stable of truly great performing artists are well represented. Boris Berezovsky has established a remarkable reputation, both as the most powerful of virtuoso pianists and as a musician of unique insight and sensitivity. Born in Moscow in 1969, Boris Berezovsky studied at the Moscow Conservatoire with Eliso Virsaladze and privately with Alexander Satz. Following his London début at the Wigmore Hall in 1988, The Times described him as 'an artist of exceptional promise, a player of dazzling virtuosity and formidable power'; two years later that promise was fulfilled when he won the Gold Medal at the 1990 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.

Described by The Observer as the “definition of virtuosity” Nobu, who has been blind from birth, won the joint Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009 and has gone on to earn an international reputation for the passion and excitement he brings to his live performances. Having given critically acclaimed debuts at Carnegie Hall, the BBC Proms and the Wiener Musikverein, Nobu regularly performs worldwide with orchestras such as the Mariinsky, Philharmonia, NHK Symphony orchestras, Münchner Philharmoniker and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under the baton of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Yukata Sado.

He performs the composer’s Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor and the Trio élégiaque No. 2 in D minor Op. 9.

In the latter twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, Itzhak Perlman has been acclaimed as being among the leading violinists before the public, and, without doubt, has been the most visible of them in media venues, from recordings and radio broadcasts to television and film appearances.
