Temptations Sky's The Limit

"Puzzle People" is the 11th studio album released by American soul quintet The Temptations for the Gordy (Motown) label in 1969. Produced entirely by Norman Whitfield, "Puzzle People" takes the next step along the path that "Cloud Nine" started, and takes the Temptations further away from a classic soul sound, and more towards the realm of psychedelic soul. Although a few ballads, including "Running Away (Ain't Gonna Help You)," are still present, the album is primarily composed of Sly & the Family Stone/James Brown-derived proto-funk tracks such as the lead single "Don't Let the Joneses Get You Down," and the #1 Billboard Pop hit "I Can't Get Next to You." Also included are psychedelic-styled covers (recorded with distorted guitars, clavinets, and spacy reverb and sound effects) of contemporary songs such as The Isley Brothers' "It's Your Thing," The Beatles' "Hey Jude," and Roger Miller's "Little Green Apples."

Legendary group The Temptations are pleased to announce their first new album in eight years, All The Time. To be released on May 4, All The Time features inspired renditions of songs by Sam Smith, Bruno Mars, John Mayer, Maxwell, Ed Sheeran, Michael Jackson, and The Weeknd, and three new, original Temptations songs. The album’s digital format includes two tracks available for immediate download and streaming today with album preorder, as well as two bonus track remixes.

This Expansion release from 2010 combines "Take It to the Limit" (1980) and "Mr. C" (1981) on one compact disc. These were two of Norman Connors' star-studded Arista-era albums, built on dancefloor R&B and quiet storm, highlighted by "Take It to the Limit" (featuring Adaritha), "Melancholy Fire" (Glenn Jones), a cover of Lou Courtney's "I Don't Need Nobody Else" (Al Johnson), "She's Gone," and "Keep Doin' It." This is a straightforward reissue of the two albums. There are no bonus tracks.
