San Antonio real estate magnate Abe Epstein took an omnivorous approach to recording and releasing records on his Cobra, Jox,Dynamic , Soulsville USA, Suzuki, Vollado, Groovy, Beckingham, and Metro-Dome labels. Tape was running constantly at his 735 North General McMullen Drive studio, capturing Latin balladeers, soul crooners, country yodelers, garage rockers, and top 40 hopefuls alike. Epstein was chasing, above all else, hits. “Recording became like a disease to me,” Epstein said.Claire Peralta, Sylvia Wilburn, Cecilia Silva came together in 1961 as the Royaltones in the choir room of South San Antonio High, harmonizing the latest hits while waiting for their parents to collect them. After changing their name to the Dreamliners—inspired by the San Antonio transit system—they began performing at VFW Halls and military bases in greater Bexar County, singing a set of McGuire Sisters-esque ditties for the ranking folks, and the Sound of Young America for the NFG privates.

T.I.M.E. (1968). Debut album of this underrated US psychedelic band (which evolved out of very fine, garage-pop-psych band Hardtimes) was released in 1968 by Liberty Records in attractive die-cut, gatefold cover. It contained great mixture of very catchy and memorable songs based on rich vocal harmonies and strong guitar-organ interplay and being somewhere between garage rock and pop-psych. The music itself was very diverse, ranged from dark, atmospheric heavier tracks to much lighter sounds. lt’s worth noting that the main influences to the band were The Beatles, The Byrds, The Hollies and Buffalo Springfield…

The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome is the eighth album by British progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. Recorded in 1977, it was their last studio album before their 2005 reunion. The Beatles' final European tour encompassed 15 concerts, starting off in Paris on the 20th June 1965. They played two shows in the capital that day, at 3pm and 9pm, each watched by 6,000 people.
