SILVER CONVENTION started life in Munich in 1974 as Silver Bird Convention when German song writing and producing partners Michael Kunzte and Sylvester Levay released the single ‘Save Me’ on Jupiter Records, enlisting three session singers to take care of the minimal vocal refrain on the track. With the "Bird” soon dropped from the acts name ‘Save Me’ became an international Disco hit heralding the start of continued success throughout the 70's. GET UP AND BOOGIE was the group’s second album released in 1976 and capitalized on the success of their debut, which is also available on BBR. Simply titled "Silver Convention” for the US market, GET UP AND BOOGIE confirmed the group’s reputation for very catchy, accessible dance floor music that was at the forefront of the Euro-disco movement.
THE HUES CORPORATION was a soul trio formed in 1969 in Santa Monica, California by band mates St. Clair Lee, Fleming Williams and Hubert Ann Kelley. Their first break came in 1972 with the Blaxploitation film, Blacula, in which they made a small appearance, in addition to recording three songs for the soundtrack. It was shortly following this that they were signed to RCA where they released their debut album, FREEDOM FOR THE STALLION, now making its international CD debut on BBR!

THE SALSOUL ORCHESTRA - as well as being the legendary backing band for many of the Salsoul Records artists - were a highly successful act in their own right. Throughout their career they consisted of up to 50 members (many of whom were also standing members of MFSB – Philadelphia Internationals house band). They released eleven successful albums on Salsoul Records over a seven year period.
Maria del Rosario Mercedes Pilar Martinez Molina Baeza, professionally known by her stage name CHARO, is a Spanish-American actress, singer, comedienne and flamenco guitarist who was well known for her flamboyant style and her catchphrase "Cuchi-Cuchi.” Having married Latin superstar Xavier Cugat in 1966, who had taken Charo on as his protégé, this all round performer racked up a multitude of film and television appearances (alongside her musical career - she was voted Best Flamenco Guitarist twice in Guitar Player Magazine) throughout the 60's and 70's which helped to make her a household name in the U.S.A. Charo even had a spell headlining her own shows in Las Vegas.
