The band was founded by Steve Nardelli, Chris Squire, Andrew Pryce Jackman, Martyn Adelman and John Painter. Chris Welch, in his book, Close to the Edge: The Story of Yes wrote, "The Syn were very similar to Yes in fact. It was very much a precursor of Yes."

The tale of one of China's most famous dynasties begins with the amazing story of Hongwu, a peasant rebel who founded one of greatest eras in Chinese history. The film takes us to his great capital Nanjing, with its 21 miles of walls, each brick stamped with the name of the village that made it. Following the trail, we go to the Bao family village and see the villagers act a Ming murder story. Like many authoritarian states, the Ming were obsessive about architecture. We see the giant fortifications of the Great Wall, the ritual enclaves of the Forbidden City in Beijing and travel with bargeman Mr Hu down the Grand Canal, China's great artery of commerce right up to the present day.

…And the award for most fully rounded, realised, concept story album of the 2000s goes to… (pause for effect, as everyone shouts 'Oh get on with it' at their TV screens) … The Clockwork Fable by Gandalf's Fist! (rapturous applause, followed by knowing nods of approval and close ups of the stars whispering 'who the hell are Randolph's Tryst???', while silently cursing that they haven't won the imaginary prize). Yes, it's an unlikely tale, so much so in fact that Gandalf's Fist probably wrote it. Although there's maybe not enough ferrets, badgers or woodwind cake launchers involved for their taste!

A multi-talented producer of music for films, television, and video games, Iranian-German composer Ramin Djawadi honed his considerable talents alongside contemporaries like Klaus Badelt, John Debney, Harry Gregson-Williams, and Steve Jablonsky while working for veteran composer Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions film score company. He worked as an assistant to the aforementioned Badelt before venturing out on his own with the RZA-assisted score for director David Goyer's Blade: Trinity (2004). He continued to work with Goyer, providing music for both film (The Unborn) and television (FlashForward), earning an Emmy nomination for the latter. In 2008 Djawadi, a longtime fan of the Marvel character, provided the guitar-heavy score for director Jon Favreau's big screen rendering of Iron Man, and in 2011 he provided the memorable (and oft-covered) theme and incidental music for HBO's massively popular fantasy series Game of Thrones. Subsequent film scores have included Clash of the Titans, Red Dawn, Pacific Rim, Warcraft, and The Great Wall, while his work in television expanded to vampire horror show The Strain and sci-fi techno thriller Person of Interest.
