A feast of Haydn and Mozart under the sure and stylish baton of Karl Münchinger, including several recordings making their first international appearance on CD. This box of Münchinger's legacy in Classical-era repertoire picks up where the Eloquence set of his Baroque recordings (484 0160) left off, with six symphonies of Haydn. He had founded the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in 1946, and Decca began making records with them three years later. The excellence and commercial success of these albums caused the label to invite him to work with orchestras other than his own, in Paris (the Conservatoire Orchestra) and, more prestigiously still, the Vienna Philharmonic. The first fruits of this new relationship were issued in May 1955: an LP of No.88 and No.101, the 'Clock'. Reviewers looked to the likes of Furtwangler and Toscanini for comparison respectively, and did not find Münchinger wanting for either grandeur or pathos in this music.

The enigmatic producer-composer-percussionist Kip Hanrahan developed his own A renowned composer, bandleader, visionary producer, and creative instigator, Kip Hanrahan has long been known for intensely passionate music that is both tender and hard-driving, with a deep poetic edge. 'Crescent Moon Waning' is the first Kip Hanrahan album since his 2011 release 'At Home in Anger'. Fans of forward-thinking, outernational music will no doubt be thrilled to hear that Hanrahan is back!

Han Uil is a Dutch musician and record producer for his solo albums. He is best known as as composer/vocalist/guitarist for TumbleTown (a collaboration with Aldo Adema and Erik Laan) and as front man for the bands Antares and Seven Day Hunt. In 2006 he released his debut solo album ‘Alone’ and in 2010 the well received second studio album ‘Dark in Light’ followed by the Americana influenced album ‘Han – Lawless local heroes’ (2015).

The Doors are releasing the fabled studio outtake “Paris Blues” as the title track to a new blues-themed compilation coming out on vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on November 25. The song – which is the last known unissued studio recording by The Doors – has been talked about by fans and band members for years.

The LP’s cover art is an original painting by guitarist Robby Krieger, and the set also includes liner notes by blues scholar Mary Katherine Aldin.
