This new release features works for solo piano by female composers from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries, performed by Anna Shelest. Hailed by The New York Times as a pianist of a fiery sensibility and warm touch, Anna Shelest is an international award-winning pianist who has thrilled audiences throughout the world. An effective collaborator (The New York Times), Anna made her orchestral debut at the age of twelve with the Kharkiv Symphony Orchestra, playing Rachmaninoffs Piano Concerto No. 1. Since then she has been a soloist with some of the worlds finest orchestras, including the Montreal Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and Estonian National Symphony, among others.

The two-disc live album Story Songs is based on the show of the same name that Buckley debuted at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater in September 2016.

The New York Times tagged Jimmy Raney as “one of the most gifted and influential postwar jazz guitarists in the world”. After working with the likes of Stan Getz and Red Norvo in the 1950’s, Raney found himself working in pit bands and backing singers in order to support his family. His inability to find a creative outlet in New York coupled with abusive drinking sent Raney back to his hometown Louisville, Kentucky in late 60’s. This 1974 recording for MPS represents Raney’s return to the forefront of jazz guitarists.

Canadian composer Brian Current’s The Seven Heavenly Halls is the result of his being declared winner of the inaugural Azrieli Commission in September 2015. The work premiered on October 19, 2016 at the Maison symphonique by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal with tenor Frederic Antoun as soloist and Kent Nagano conducting.
