Recorded at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in 1967 during the final months of the original group's career, this British Psych-pop masterpiece yielded their last great hit 'Time Of The Season', but was destined for release after the Zombies had first broken up. It is the British pop group's all-time classic 'concept' album.

Like a majority of up-and-coming British bands of the 1960s, the Zombies made nearly two dozen BBC Light and Radio 1 transmissions between the fall of 1964 and the spring of 1968. The 29 cuts hail from a variety of those programs. In many cases their alternate persona as a consummate and immensely soulful cover combo is likewise illuminated. The contents are presented in a relatively chronological manner, commencing with one of the group's earliest shots (if not the earliest shot) on Saturday Club, broadcast on October 3, 1964…

35 years since their groundbreaking platinum-certified album Doolittle catapulted the band into the UK Top Ten, and 20 years since their celebrated reformation at Coachella, Pixies are deep into their second act, and in the midst of a creative purple patch. The Night The Zombies Came is Pixies' tenth album, if you count their classic 1987 4AD mini-LP, Come On Pilgrim, and first new music since 2022's acclaimed Doggerel LP. 13 new songs that find Pixies looking ahead to the most cinematic record of their career. Druidism, apocalyptic shopping malls, mediaeval themed restaurants, 12th century poetic form, surf rock, gargoyles, bog people, and the distinctive dry drum sound of 1970s-era Fleetwood Mac are just some of the disparate wonders that inform the new songs. The Night The Zombies Came will be released via BMG.

2023 release from the veteran psych-popsters. Different Game is the follow-up to their 2015 studio release Still Got That Hunger. This album is what the current-day Zombies were meant to make. It has the vintage qualities that made them stand out in the 1960s, yet still sounds modern and reflects their continued development as songwriters and musicians. Nine of the 10 tracks are written by Rod Argent, with the closer, "The Sun Will Rise Again," by Colin Blunstone. Rod produced the album, which includes a small string ensemble on three tracks. The band began working on this album in 2019, shortly after their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, but it was delayed by the pandemic - they strongly prefer to record together and capture a live band performance in the studio (just as they had to do in the 1960s). They were not willing to make this album remotely.

It ranked #100 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

This presents, in chronological sequence, both sides of all 14 of the Zombies' British singles. The Zombies were one of the most consistent British '60s bands, so it's no surprise that this is a great compilation, containing nothing mediocre and little that's even average. In addition to the three well-known hits "She's Not There," "Tell Her No," and "Time of the Season" (all present), there's an abundance of gems from B-sides and flop singles: "I Must Move," "Indication," "She's Coming Home," "Gotta Get a Hold of Myself," and "Beechwood Park" are just the very best of those. However, the absence of the great U.S.-only 1965 single "I Want You Back Again"/"I Remember When I Loved Her" and, to a lesser degree, some standout LP-only tracks (particularly "Changes" from Odessey & Oracle) prevents this from being the definitive single-disc best-of.
