BROADCAST RECORDING FROM ERIC CLAPTON S 25th ANNIVERSARY TOUR IN 1988 - FEATURING ELTON JOHN. Eric Clapton s 25th Anniversary Tour, featuring Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler among band members, was arranged to celebrate what was, in the late-1980s, Clapton s quarter century in the music business. Beginning on January 22, 1988 in Birmingham and ending on November 5 the same year in Osaka, the tour led through Asia, Europe and North America. Announced in December 1987 the tour quickly sold out and during 42 concerts, including four in Japan, 12 in the United Kingdom and 26 in the United States and Canada, Eric and band performed in front of more than 500,000 concertgoers, taking around 14 million US dollars in revenue. On November 2nd, the entourage performed at Japan s Tokyo Dome, for a show which was recorded for live broadcast on TV and FM radio, both in Japan and across the US. Elton John performed both solo on a couple of numbers during the concert, and alongside Clapton and band for several more songs. This entire gig is now presented on this 2CD Set in perfect quality for the first time.

From the fiery boogie opener ‘Any Second Now’, through to the dark acoustic closing of ‘Old Wounds’, Cut and Run takes the listener on a trip from honest acoustic ballads to searing Blues Rock and captures Lloyd Spiegel at his best as a vocalist and guitarist while providing some of his best lyrical work to date. This album, along with This Time Tomorrow (2017) and last year’s Backroads concludes a trilogy of albums and represents the fruits of an intensely creative time for the Melbourne-based bluesman. Says Spiegel, “the last three years I’ve written one album while touring the previous so it’s a natural progression that each group of songs is a response to the last. Cut and Run has a positivity and clarity in it that for me, resolves a great deal of the questions I asked myself on the last two albums. It’s definitely the end of a chapter for me both musically and personally.”

It was the group's first album featuring keyboardist Patrick Moraz (who previously had worked with bands such as Refugee and Yes) in place of co-founder Mike Pinder, who left after Octave in 1978. Upon release in 1981, Long Distance Voyager became the Moody Blues' second American number one album, and was also the source of the Top 20 singles "Gemini Dream" (#12) and "The Voice" (#15). It also continued their winning streak in their native United Kingdom, reaching #7 there.

As the climax of the club's 25th Anniversary Festival - and a birthday gift from the musicians - this Franco-American guitar summit brought together for the first time the members of Autour du Blues (the cream of France's top studio musicians) and two of America's most brilliant guitar heroes, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford.

Blues Interaction - Live In Japan 1986 Is a 1986 live album by blues singer and guitarist Otis Rush. Recorded with local Japanese band Break Down, the album has been panned by many critics because of what was considered to be the backing band's rudimentary knowledge of blues music.[citation needed] Ironically, Rush has dual citizenship in the United States and Japan.[citation needed] His current wife is a native of the country. Originally the album was released in Japan only by P-Vine Records but was subsequently released in 1996 in the United Kingdom by Sequel Records.
