Elbicho - a very famous Spanish band playing music in the style of "flamenco fusion", combining rumbas, tangos and bulerias with elements of jazz, rock, African rhythms and music of the Maghreb. Six of the eight members of the group first met while studying at La Escuela Popular de Musica de Madrid in September 2001. Soon they started playing together in small halls and on the street. In the group initially had a great influence 70s rock (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin), and flamenco (Camaron and Paco de Lucia). They say that they are a kind of version of Triana in the nineties.

Founded in Valencia, Spain in 1973 - Disbanded in 1978. -Tarantula was one of the many prog bands that emerged in the second half of the Seventies, speerheaded by known Spanish formations like Triana, Blogue and Granada. They started as a quintet, led by keyboard player Vicente Guillot. -The melodic, very pleasant sound on their eponymous debut album from 1976 is not like the flamenco inspired groups as Triana, Cai or Mezquita but more close to the Seventies Italian Symphonic Prog (dramatic vocals by Rafael Cabrera evoking Banco and Le Orme along the lush vintage keyboards with wonderful drops of the unsurpassed Mellotron) and German symphonic prog like Jane and Ramses (harder-edged guitar and powerful organ runs).

"On Target" is the 1983 album by the soul girl group The Jones Girls. The band were an R&B trio of sisters from Detroit, Michigan. They first recorded for GM Records before moving to Philadelphia International Records with Gamble & Huff. The Jones Girls consisted of sisters Brenda, Valorie and Shirley Jones.

The 2015 Jaén International Piano Competition was won by a young Canadian pianist of Ukrainian descent, Anastasia Rizikov, who was also awarded the prizes for best performances of Spanish and Contemporary Music. This is reflected in her interpretations of Albéniz’s radiant and virtuoso Triana and the work commissioned for the 57th edition of the competition, Soñando María Magdalena, which transforms the traditional Jaén melody La carrasquilla into a tender and powerful personal journey. The programme is completed by the disquieting beauty of Beethoven’s ‘Tempest’ Sonata and the breathtaking energy of Grieg’s only work in the same genre.

Flamenco is an art form based on the various folkloric music traditions of southern Spain, developed within the gitano subculture of the region of Andalusia, and also having historical presence in Extremadura and Murcia.
