Apophenia V features the Ghost Ensemble, recorded live at Redcat in Los Angeles, while Subject-Object-Abject was written and recorded in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, and represents the acute feelings of disassociation from reality that marked those days.

Painter, graphic artist, but not least jazz pianist Svein Finnerud released the iconic album Plastic Sun in 1970 together with bassist Bjørnar Andresen and drummer Espen Rud. At the time, the Finnerud Trio was an important part of the Norwegian avant-garde jazz scene. They were not internationally known, but the ideas they represented would later become a trend-setting figure in European jazz with artists such as Garbarek, Rypdal and the "ECM sound". In 1971, they played two concerts during the Kongsberg Jazz Festival. One at the Byscenene and one in the cinema. The concert at the cinema is completely unique, as Finnerud plays both electric piano and acoustic piano at the same concert. With the blessing of his son Bendik Finnerud and Espen Rud, this album can now be made available on CD. The album contains compositions by Anette Peacock/Paul Bley and Keith Jarrett, in addition to his own songs.

Jazz | Label: Carpe Diem Records Berlin

The first solo album of Swiss double bass player and composer Fridolin Blumer is an exceptional album, even for the rarity-driven catalogue of Carpe Diem Records. Acting as a stylistic counterpoint to the many Early Music solo albums on the label, "Anklam" is a solo album of entirely improvised contemporary double bass music, focusing on instantaneous musical creation in the moment, instead of reviving century-old compositions. Fridolin Blumer is a jazz musician who has dedicated his whole musical career to exploring music beyond the written score, even beyond formal musical concepts. His style is not easily determined by conventional understanding of music. His music is primarily sound that evolves and moves in time, creating structures while moving through and past them, taking the listener on an unforeseeable trip into the feeling and thinking process of the creative mind.
