Occasionally, companies will throw consumers a bone and give them a good value. Artisan Home Entertainment has done this with 2001's Lynyrd Skynyrd DVD double feature Freebird: The Movie and Tribute Tour. Both of these videos appear on DVD for the first time, and this low-priced, two-for-one disc exceeding three hours' playing time is a treasure. The DVD is not perfect – the menu is clumsy and you can't access songs individually – but these two videos existing in the digital domain is what's important. 1996's Freebird: The Movie captures the full glory of classic Lynyrd Skynyrd before the 1977 plane crash. Three concerts yielded the terrific live footage, primarily Knebworth Fair in Hertfordshire, England, on August 21, 1976, but also Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ, on July 13, 1977, and A Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, CA, on July 4, 1977. The incendiary version of "Free Bird" was filmed in Oakland.

One More from the Road (Styled as "One More For From The Road") is a live album by Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It marked the band's first live album, and the only live album from the "classic" era of the band (1970–1977) prior to the plane crash that killed lead singer/songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, as well as band members Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines. The album was released in September 1976. It was certified Gold on 10/26/1976, Platinum on 12/30/1976 and 3x Platinum on 7/21/1987 by the RIAA. The original 14 tracks include a cover of Jimmie Rodgers' "T for Texas" and an 13:30 version of "Free Bird". The first CD release (1986) was a single disc missing two tracks. T For Texas and Travellin' Man. The second CD release (1996) was a two disc set with all 14 songs plus 3 Bonus Tracks. Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Back My Bullets and Simple Man. The two disc set put the tracks in order of the appearance of the original concert.

Legend was a posthumous compilation album of unreleased material by American Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, which contained previously unreleased demos from the albums before the 1977 plane crash. However, the vast majority of tracks on Legend are now available on other albums. The album was certified Gold on 7/27/2001 by the RIAA.

This soundtrack features all the songs peformed in the documentary that took you back to the days when Skynyrd's lineup was intact and before the plane crash.

If Al Kooper isn't a living American musical legend, no one is. Who else has performed with Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix and countless others? The excitement from the packed audience is only rivaled by the intensity Al and the band bring to such classics as I Can't Quit Her, Somethin' Goin' On and New York City (You're a Woman). It's Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll and a great time, as only Al Kooper can bring.
