As the title suggests this brilliant new collection from Jasmine looks at the career of Willie Dixon as a successful writer, producer and singer in the Big Three Trio, Willie Dixon and the All Stars and the Lucky Three Trio. The first 14 tracks are Willie's solo recordings on Chess Records and include his only chart hit under his own name 'Walking the Blues'. His other singles were all exceptional records but none managed to chart however by this time he had already started having major hits with his songs and productions for Muddy Waters, Little Walter and Otis Rush and a selection of these great songs and hits make up the rest of this compilation. Willie Dixon through Chess studios produced a stream of classic records and a formidable portfolio of songs that would help fuel the worldwide revival in the blues during the 1960s.

In the 1950s and 60s, the blues was the dominant form of Black vernacular music throughout Texas and the surrounding areas. In segregated neighborhoods, community members gathered in saloons, dancehalls, and each other's homes to hear their neighbors sing their stories of sorrow, heartbreak, jubilation, and triumph. Robert "Mack" McCormick, an academically untrained but fanatical devotee of the blues, stepped into this world and became one of its most devout advocates and documentarians.

"The blackest of Italian pianists" was born May 16th, 1965, in Genoa. He studied piano with Maestro Flavio Crivelli and began his career collaborating with musicians from the Genoa Area, especially with the bassist Piero Leveratto. In 1993 he was invited for the first time in the USA. He plays with Red Holloway and Albert "Tootie" Heath on a tour on the West Coast.
