Wet Down

One summer morning, Kiyoshi (Shosuke Hirose) is racing on his bike down the beach. While there, a girl with her clothes torn up is thrown out from a green convertible. This is how he and Sanae (Teresa Noda) first meet. A little while later Sanae's sister comes to pay Kiyoshi a visit, falsely claiming that he participated in her sister's rape. When she shoves him into a car with intentions to hand him over to the police, Kiyoshi finally snaps.

Originally hailing from north of Seattle, the singer-songwriter Jillian Speer grew up with music as an integral part of her life from an early age. Ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance classes that started at three years old instilled the work ethic for perfection. At nine years old she began vocal lessons and at ten years old she began training in classical guitar. Writing songs, guitar recitals, dance class, dance competitions, intensive summer arts camps, and performing in local musicals best describes her school years until she turned 16 and got a scholarship to spend one year in India. That year was an experience that would deeply affect her life as well as influence her music.

As Cleo Lovedrop heads off for college at the local art school, she's haunted by her melancholic past: a lost love, a lost child. Friends and enemies live their lives around her, as trouble and dissent brews amongst them: an unseen social assailant spreads slander about Cleo, she is forced to deal with her two brusque roommates, and discovers unsolved mysteries about the girl who lived in her room previously. Elsewhere, Trilby deals with unsettled emotional and sexual issues, and keeping her secret habits hidden from everyone. And Audrey comes to the realization that, despite all her efforts, she always causes her friends distress, while Fern, a peculiar, deformed girl who lives in an isolated mansion in the bayous, begins to notice Cleo and her friends. As the moon grows full and lunar rays shine down, lunacy and moon-calves run free. Goths, friendship, romance, sex, betrayal, gossip, cats, murder, guilt, a squirrel monkey, and all the terrible and wonderful things people do to each other.

This is the debut disc from this quartet and the album runs the gamut from ballads to rockers. It's a pretty good CD, with a heavy country feel to it.
