Wild Roots 2021

Summer season 2021 has begun! Not often before people have wished for a summer to begin as eagerly as this year. But now the time has finally come - the days are longer, the nights warmer and the general mood is joyful and full of expectations. With all these positive feelings, the longing for sandy beaches lined with palm trees, the sight of lively people on pool loungers with a cocktail in their hands and the scent of coconut oil and suntan lotion in the air gets bigger every day. With the current edition of their “Beach Sessions” compilation series, Milk & Sugar offer the perfect soundtrack on this occasion, immersing the listener in the feeling of sun on their skin and sand between their toes.

A place between structure and fluctuation where planning and spontaneity intertwine, enriched by rational thinking or wild instinct. A connection between cold focus and wonderful oblivion. The art of compromise without compromising. It might be a place where the hardness of metal touches the softness of skin. Scratching Fork could be all of these. One thing is certain – it is a band, a talented trio playing jazz-like music in contemporary style.

Khruangbin are no slouches when it comes to the remix. They’ve been reworked before, in 2016, with the highly collectible EP on Boogiefuturo. But this time, they’re taking it a step further with an album dedicated to the art. Entering the tight-knit world of a Khruangbin song can be a little daunting.

After experimenting with their sound on 2016’s Oh My My, Ryan Tedder and his crew have returned to their roots in what Tedder calls their “most OneRepublic album” to date. “We wanted to make something where it’s like, all right, if you’ve been with us at all going back to ’07, ’08, if you’ve liked anything we’ve done, this kind of encapsulates that,” Tedder tells Apple Music.

Amythyst Kiah is redefining the limits of roots music. Today, the mould-shattering singer / songwriter who Rolling Stone calls “one of Americana’s great up-and-coming secrets,” makes her Rounder Records debut with the release of a radically reimagined version of her song “Black Myself.”

Zac Brown Band have announced plans for a new album due this fall. Titled The Comeback, the group’s upcoming full-length studio project will be released October 15th via Warner Music Nashville and Brown’s Home Grown Music.
