"Sons Of Society" is the eleventh studio album by American heavy metal band Riot, released on September 7, 1999. Sons of Society continues Riot's move into a more European metal sound, strongly reminiscent of Rainbow and Thin Lizzy and tailored for the preferences of the Japanese market. It's a solid if unexceptional record, with all the well-executed craft of seasoned veterans and the rather conservative predictability of journeymen. Japan release comes with an exclusive bonus track: "QUEEN".

Maddening personal and business problems have weighed him down for most of his career. He joined Scorpions as a teenager before serving a turbulent stint in UFO that still managed to produce a handful of classic '70s hard rock albums – all of which should have been big hits. The Michael Schenker Group and then the McAuley Schenker Group/MSG with vocalist Robin McAuley became slicker-sounding solo vehicles for the German axe slinger, but widespread fame remained just out of reach.

Formed in the early 90’s with the release of their 1998’s album “Return To Heaven Denied”, considered as a milestone for the genre, they caught the attention of the entire European scene, gaining success and building their important career made of great albums and tours. Labyrinth, together with acts like Rhapsody Of Fire, Lacuna Coil helped the entire Italian heavy metal scene to reach the next level globally.
Over the years the band went through difficult times and several lineup changes, taking a break from 2010 to 2017 when in the spring of 2016, the band’s founding members Andrea Cantarelli and Olaf Thorsen received a call from Frontiers, asking them to discuss with singer Roberto Tiranti the possibility of a comeback for the band…
