This week The Gnomon Workshop releases a new series of Dynamic Figure Drawing DVDs by DC Comics artist David Finch. Finch is a veteran comic book illustrator who recently joined DC Comics after a long stint at Marvel Comics working on such titles as Ultimate X-Men, Avengers Disassembled, The New Avengers, Moon Knight and Ultimatum. These new DVDs focus on teaching the techniques artists need in order to draw the human figure from multiple angles and poses without the need for tracing and using reference. Have you completed the modeling of the Simplymaya Haunted House scene? Then its time focus on learning all the steps that are needed to texture your house and scene. You will learn how to unwrap all the geometry to achive a clean flat UV map for painting in Photoshop. Some of the tools you will be using are the UV texture editor, move and sew UVs, and cut UVs. Once you have created your UV map you'll import them into Photoshop where you will see how to go about painting your own textures to apply to your model. There is also a small section on using paint effects for creating grass.
