On October 29th and 30th, 2009, rock 'n' roll royalty held court at Madison Square Garden for what have been called "the best concerts ever," where "rock 'n' roll history was made." Tapestry Revisited: A Tribute to Carole King is a 1995 tribute album honoring American singer, songwriter, and pianist Carole King. It features a diverse lineup of artists including Richard Marx, Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, The Bee Gees and Amy Grant. The idea of this release was to re-create King's 1971 album Tapestry track-for-track using other artists. The album peaked at number 53 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold in the United States.

Sweet Kind of Blue was recorded at Sam Phillips Recording Service in Memphis with Grammy winner Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price) and an all star cast of Memphis session players: Rick Steff (keys), Steve Potts (drums), Dave Smith (bass) and Dave Cousar (guitar). For Emily’s fans, it will be a new sound: as Matt Ross-Spang suggested to Emily in persuading her to record the album at Sam Phillips, there's a certain groove that only Memphis can produce. For Emily herself, it’s a return to where her love of music started: far away from Memphis or London, singing her heart out to Aretha Franklin records in her bedroom in sleepy Bridgetown, Western Australia.

"Be Yourself Tonight" is the 4th album by the British pop duo Eurythmics, released in 1985. Largely recorded in Paris, with additional recording in Detroit and Los Angeles, this album saw Eurythmics move away from their previous more experimental, synthesizer-based songs, to a more commercial pop/rock sound. Combining elements of Motown and rock music, the album incorporates a more traditional band line-up/instrumentation. Nonetheless, the recordings still possessed an atmospheric and cutting edge sound, winning David A. Stewart awards for his production work on the album. The release of the album also coincided with a new look for singer Annie Lennox, who ditched the androgynous look of the previous albums and became, in biographer Lucy O'Brien's words, "a bleach-blonde rock 'n' roller." Be Yourself Tonight includes guest appearances by notable artists such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Elvis Costello.
