Fences was originally a 1983 play by American playwright August Wilson. Set in the 1950s, it is the sixth in Wilson's ten-part "Pittsburgh Cycle". Like all of the "Pittsburgh" plays, Fences explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes. Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road is a 2021 documentary film about the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson that was directed by Brent Wilson (no relation). It follows Brian and Rolling Stone editor Jason Fine as they drive around Los Angeles and visit locations from Brian's past. The title comes from "Long Promised Road", a song written by Brian's brother Carl Wilson and former band manager Jack Rieley, which figures heavily in the film.
In August 2021, Brent stated that there were tentative plans to release a soundtrack album containing never before released material. The soundtrack was officially announced on November 23 and released by Lakeshore Records on November 26.

Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley is a studio album by Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley originally issued in February 1962 by Capitol Records. The Penguin Guide to Jazz states "The odd session out is the date with Nancy Wilson for Capitol, primarily designed as a showcase for the young singer but with five band-only tracks as well. Wilson had a self-conscious phrasing and melodramatic lighting-up of key lines - but there is a version of "A Sleeping Bee" here which is one of the most charming of all her recordings, and Cannon and the others play personably throughout". Wilson considered her vocals on the album "as a sort of easy-going third horn".

Besides occasional appearances with Benny Goodman, pianist Teddy Wilson taught summer courses at the famous Juilliard School for music from 1946 to 1952. Despite this prestigious profession, he recorded only irregularly during these years and made most of his money as a staff pianist for WNEW. In the fall of 1952, he went on a brief tour to Scandinavia where he was finally able to record again.

Set Us Free, Reuben Wilson's final album for Blue Note, was issued in 1971. Since that time it has become an immortal and much sought classic by beatheads for a single track: "We're in Love." DJ Premier sampled it liberally – for its Hammond B-3 vamps, backing vocals, and decorative percussion – for use on rapper Nas' smash "Memory Lane." Hip-hop fans suddenly had to hear more, and as a result not only is Wilson active again on the circuit, but there has also been terrific interest in his catalog.
