Volume 4 of Benjamin Alard's complete recording of Bach's keyboard works continues to explore the Weimar period. After À la française, we turn to Italy, where the Vivaldian concerto reigned in Venice.

Dorothee Oberlinger hat sich für ihr neues Album mit Musik von Johann Sebastian Bach mit dem Lautenisten Edin Karamazov einen kongenialen Partner ausgesucht. Weltberühmt und einem breiten Publikum bekannt wurde Karamazov durch sein Album mit dem Pop-Sänger Sting, und auf der neuen CD kann er auch sein Talent als Bearbeiter unter Beweis stellen. Denn für das Album hat er zusammen mit Oberlinger Werke von Bach umgeschrieben für Blockflöte und Laute: Eingeleitet wird das Album »Dialoge« mit dem Choralvorspiel »Nun kommt der Heiden Heiland« BWV 659, hier zu hören – und nicht minder zu Herzen gehend als das Original – eben mit Blockflöte und Laute.

Throughout his entire life, Johann Sebastian Bach wrote a great number of arrangements, transcriptions, and “parodies”. Baroque violinist Annegret Siedel and the organist Ute-Gremmel Geuchen are experimenting this field with great joy in playing a varied spectrum of Bach's compositions on violin and organ, violon solo, or organ solo.

The concept behind Fake Bach is to record a recital dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach that focuses on piano transcriptions that are 'daring' and 'scandalous', providing a unique perspective on Bach's music.

Johann Sebastian Bach hat leider kein Trompetenkonzert hinterlassen, von dem wir heutzutage wissen. Der Trompeter Matthias Höfs hat Abhilfe geschaffen und eine Reihe Bach’scher Solokonzerte für sein Instrument arrangiert. Mit seiner modernen Piccolotrompete ist es ihm – anders als mit der ventillosen Barocktrompete – möglich, den brillanten Klang der Trompete in den anspruchsvollen Melodien der Konzerte zum Strahlen zu bringen.Matthias Höfs versetzt damit ein Instrument, dessen Klang Bach seinerzeit schon bekannt gewesen ist, in das Hier und Jetzt. Die berühmten Melodien der Bach’schen Solokonzerte glänzen so auf ganz besondere Art und Weise, wie man sie noch nie gehört hat. »Es war ja damals schon üblich, ein Stück für das eigene Instrument anzupassen.« Zusammen mit der Deutschen Kammerphilharmonie Bremen hat er so ein Album geschaffen, das eine lange Tradition fortsetzt. Darüber hinaus zeigt er wieder einmal, wozu ein bekannt geglaubtes Instrument an Wandlungsfähigkeit und Farbgebung noch im Stande ist.

Above the album worked the 'Bach: L'Extase Musicale ', and his release took place on 2021. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.

Dorothee Oberlinger has chosen a congenial partner with the lutenist Edin Karamazov for her new album with music by Johann Sebastian Bach. Karamazov became world famous and known to a wide audience through his album with the pop singer Sting, and on the new album he can also prove his talent as an arranger. Because for the album he and Oberlinger rewrote works by Bach for recorder and lute.

After the success of their Tartini disc (Arcana 478, Diapason d'or, 5 stars from Musica), Mario Brunello and the Accademia dell'Annunciata return for an ingenious collection of six concertos, all of which are transcriptions of other works. Not only do we hear the keyboard arrangements of Venetian concertos such as Marcello's famous oboe concerto and Vivaldi's Violin Concerto RV230, but also reconstructed concertos by Bach such as those for oboe and oboe d'amore (BWV 1056 and 1055) and those that have come down to us in their original version — from the Violin Concerto BWV 1042 up to and including the renowned Concerto nach Italienischen Gusto BWV 971. The dialogue between the tutti and the solo passages in the latter work, only imagined in its keyboard version, here finds its full realisation in Riccardo Doni's brilliant transcription for piccolo cello and strings, supported here by the energy and passion of the Accademia dell'Annunciata.
