Features the original LP designs. A Touch of Taylor is an album by American jazz pianist Billy Taylor recorded in 1955 for the Prestige label. The album was one of the first 12-inch LPs released by the label.

The third in a series of collections of danceable jazz from the late 1950s to the mid-1970s that wasn't afraid to throw in rock, soul, pop, and blues elements (the prior volumes being Mod Jazz and Mo' Mod Jazz). What makes this stand out from other compilations of the sort, not to mention most jazz compilations of any sort, is its sheer irreverence and willingness to mix in tracks that might be considered inappropriate, or downright blasphemous, by purists.

The Capitol collection Essential Billy Squier compiles various hits from the '80s pop/rocker's albums. Taking up the "essential" part of Squier's catalog here are tracks from 1981's Don't Say No, 1982's Emotions in Motion, and 1984's Signs of Life, including "Everybody Wants You," "The Stroke," "In the Dark," and "My Kinda Lover." Less essential but no less worthy of inclusion are such cuts as "Lonely Is the Night" from Don't Say No and "The Big Beat" from Squier's 1980 debut, The Tale of the Tape. Also included are some lesser-known cuts like "Love Is the Hero" from 1986's Enough Is Enough, "Don't Say You Love Me" from 1989's Hear & Now, and "Angry" from Squier's unfairly ignored 1993 Capitol swan song, Tell the Truth. Taken as a collection, these are Squier's best-known and catchiest tracks and showcase his unique mix of Led Zeppelin meets Queen meets Rod Stewart-style dance-rock. While Squier continued to record for various labels from the mid-'90s onward, these tracks make up the bulk of his time as a hot commodity in the '80s, and it’s great having them all on one disc.

Stewart Clark: "I was honoured to be asked by my good friend, John Sweeney, to contribute to an album he was making. It dawned on me after a while that perhaps I out to make one, and, to borrow his idea and ask lots of people to play on it. I got a bit carried awayand started messaging famous, to me anyway, musicians I admire, to see if they would want to help. To my amazement, I had some success! So you will hear, amongst contributions from good friends, performances by the current bass player for Yes, Billy Sherwood; /Sin'Dogs/ and ex SAHB/Nazareth guitarist Zal Cleminson and Sepand Samzadeh from Days Between Stations."
