Colin Blunstone and Sundazed Music celebrate the 50th anniversary of Colin's post Oracle opus One Year with an expanded edition! The half, itself titled, That Same Year, gives you a deeper introspective look into that time in his life. The album largely features Colin singing accompanied solely by his acoustic guitar.
That Same Year includes beautifully sparse demo versions of three songs from One Year including 'Caroline Goodbye' and 'Let Me Come Closer To You' where Colin is joined by fellow Zombie Rod Agent on piano. Three songs have Colin joined by Zombie bassist Chris White on classical guitar. Beyond the three familiar songs you will find Colin's familiar voice and wit come through on eleven completely unheard compositions all penned for the One Year album; including 'Sing Your Own Song' where sings of reading about his own death in Rolling Stone.

Colin Blunstone made his name with the legendary 1960s band The Zombies, who are still active to this day. After leaving The Zombies, Colin embarked on a long and successful solo career, enjoying hits such as 'Say You Don't Mind' and 'I Don't Believe In Miracles'. Planes (1976) and Never Even Thought (1978) were recorded for Elton John's Rocket Records label and amazingly have never been released on CD. Both albums have been remastered from the original quarter-inch tapes. Planes was produced by Gus Dudgeon and opens with 'Beautiful You' and the Elton John-penned title track, both of which were chosen as singles. It also boasts a reworking of The Zombies classic, '(Care Of) Cell 44' and a third single, Kiki Dee's 'Loving And Free'. Never Even Thought begins with the lead single, Richard Kerr's 'I'll Never Forget You'; the other tracks chosen as 45s were 'Ain't It Funny' and 'Photograph'. Rod Argent guests on the album.

If Colin Blunstone had only recorded the hits by the Zombies (such as "Tell Her No," "Time of the Season," and "She's Not There") he should and would be a household name. However, Blunstone had an equally impressive solo career. This collection documents his excellent Epic/CBS sides, especially those from his exquisite One Year album. Tracks from that include "Say You Don't Mind," a suburb song written by Denny Lane (ex-Moody Blues, future Wings), as well as Blunstone's original "Caroline Goodbye," which very well may be the finest record of 1970. Add to this the impressive tracks from albums like Ennismore and others, and you have the real voice of the 1970s that was sadly under-appreciated and certainly under-heard. Like a gossamer cloth, it sweeps elegant.

As the lead singer of the Zombies, Blunstone was one of the greatest '60s rock vocalists, pacing the group's minor-key masterpieces with his inimitable choked and breathy vocals…

A 3CD box set contains 60 tracks offers the most complete overview of Blunstone's career ever. It's fair to say that there have been a number of compilations over the years. What makes this set so interesting is there are numerous tracks that you will either not have heard or not heard for a long time. Fabulous collection from the man with arguably the most beautiful singing voice in Britain. Perfect harmonies. Soft rock does not get any better than "Old and Wise" and "Ain't it funny?"

Blunstone and producer Jon Sweet opt for a contemporary sound on Echo Bridge, with covers including Billy Bragg's "Levi Stubbs' Tears" and Art Garfunkel's hit "Breakaway…
