Super Session is an album conceived by Al Kooper and featuring the work of guitarists Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills. Bloomfield and Stills do not play together on the album, with tracks including Bloomfield on side one, and those including Stills on side two. It peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified a gold record by the RIAA.

Enzo Pietropaoli is an Italian jazz bassist. In 1961 he moved to Rome and then debuted professionally in 1975 with "Trio Di Roma" (Danilo Rea and Roberto Gatto). As the title states, on this release Pietropaoli performs a collection of songs by himself. The album includes covers of Bob Marley, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, and more. Some originals are also peppered throughout.

Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), John Illsley (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). Beach Boys' Party! is the tenth studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, and their third in 1965, consisting mostly of cover songs played with acoustic instruments. The album was recorded in a music studio and presented as an impromptu live recording of a party, with informal chatter by friends and family overdubbed later. The record company, Capitol, wanted an album for the holiday season, but as there was no new material ready, several options were considered, including a greatest hits album and a live album, before the band decided on the party theme. The Beach Boys covered songs by the Beatles, several doo-wop groups, Bob Dylan, and the Everly Brothers.

Joan Baez is an American folk singer, songwriter, musician, and activist, whose contemporary folk music often includes songs of protest or social justice. "Recently" was her first album of new material issued in the US in eight years. Somewhere Before is a live album by pianist Keith Jarrett recorded on August 30 and 31, 1968, at Shelly's Manne-Hole in Hollywood, California. It features a performance by Jarrett, Charlie Haden and Paul Motian. The Allmusic review awarded the album 4 stars, stating, "As an example of early, unfocused Jarrett, this is fascinating material".
