"Throughout her fifty year career Barbara Hendricks has shown herself to be one of the greatest champions of French song. This has always held a special place in her repertory and in her heart, as have German lieder, Scandinavian and Spanish songs (not to mention jazz and blues); her musical world has no limits. For this new recording made in 2016, the Swedish soprano pays homage both to her singing teacher and mentor, the great American mezzo-soprano Jennie Tourel, and to the creative genius of Hector Berlioz. If the Nuits d’été have long formed part of her repertory, the two cantatas Herminie and Cléopâtre are new."

Here are two of Rossini's "secular" cantatas: "The Lament of Harmony on the Death of Orpheus" for tenor, male chorus, and orchestra, written when he was a 16-year-old conservatory student, and the far more substantial "Wedding of Thetis and Peleus," one of many such pieces he composed for special occasions, commissioned for the marriage of an Italian princess to a French prince. Both consist of primarily short, separate, contrasting numbers, most of which would be perfectly at home in the opera house.

The name of his project is Flèche D'Or; also the title of a Django Reinhardt composition. Whether it is Gypsy Jazz, bebop or any other style, this is where you will be able to follow his musical journey.
He picked up the guitar in his teens and after having exploring various musical styles, he discovers the music of Django Reinhardt at the age of 19. For the next few years, he would dedicate himself exclusively to the style. To date, he has performed and/or recorded with the best musicians in the style such as Ritary Gaguenetti, Aurélien Trigo, Edd la Bish, Lollo Meier, Paulus Schäfer, Stéphane Wrembel, Chriss Campion, Andreas Öberg, Fapy Lafertin, Am Ketenes, Tim Kliphuis to name a few.

Outside of Gypsy Jazz, he is heavily influenced by other forms of jazz (bebop, fusion, latin), rock/pop, blues, classical; any kind of good music!
