But this one is different, showing the geography and scope of Iceland and its people in a very fresh, low-key and brilliant way, as well as showing off the music and the relative humility and humanity (as well as talent) of the musicians. I bought my first Sigur Ros CD years ago, and hadn't any idea what any of them looked like. You get to see them here, but in such a humble, common man way it is really refreshing. You also see much of the ordinary people of Iceland and the massive, empty scenery of the place. Just beautiful at virtually every level.”

"On The Night" is the final live album by the British rock band, Dire Straits. The album was released on May 10, 1993. However, the concert was recorded on May 21,1992 at Les Arenes, Nîmes, France and May 29,1992 at Feijenoord Stadion, Rotterdam, Netherlands. Shortly after, Dire Straits disbanded as lead singer Mark Knopfler embarked on a solo career.

Just watched this BBC documentary episode of "Timewatch", about The Beatles' touring years in the first part of the '60s, on YouTube. Those years were marked at first with the Fab Four's bemusement at the attention of their fans especially the screaming teenage girls. But eventually that attention, not to mention the constant chaos concerning both the touring and the death threats after John's remarks about his group being bigger than Jesus to British reporter Maureen Cleave which eventually found it's way in the U.S. teen fan magazine DATEbook, exacted a strain that resulted in their final scheduled concert at San Francisco's Candlestick Park on August 29, 1966. As a child born of Philippine parents and a native of Chicago, Ill., I was especially interested in the account of the Mop Tops' snubbing the Marcos palace's invitation which got them almost killed and their initial U.S. concert in the Windy City after all the controversy concerning John's Jesus remark. Many interviews of Cleave as well as those of tour personnel and many opening act members provide many insights of what it was like to spend time with those Liverpool Lads. One more interview with one Barry Hood-who made home movie footage of the preparations of that final concert-provide how even by that time the field manager and the tour manager went on to an argument of how the equipment was going to be handled. Lots of great previously unseen footage of this innovative music group abound. So on that note, I highly recommend "Timewatch: Beatlemania" to many of this group's fans as well as anyone who still wonders what the big deal about them was.

Florian Habicht's witty, innovative documentary follows the legendary titular band (perhaps the smartest and most charismatic in all of Britpop) as they prepare to say farewell after 25 years of performances. Though culminating with the farewell concert the band played to thousands of adoring fans in their hometown of Sheffield, England, PULP is by no means a traditional concert film or rock doc. As much a testament to the band as it is to the city and inhabitants of Sheffield, PULP weaves exclusive concert footage with man-on-the-street interviews and dreamy staged sequences to paint a picture much larger, funnier, more moving and more life-affirming than any music film of recent memory.
