“INFINITY” is an album on which Polish pianist Adam Kośmieja shows his individual take on a legendary minimal music masterpiece: “Canto Ostinato” (1976) written by a Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt (1923-2012). Holt wrote music of trance, meditation, and at the same time, filled with very strong emotions, which built culminations based on repetitive musical structures. Its repetitiveness, motoricity and spaciousness go far beyond the realm of a classical piano music performance.

John Corigliano is a difficult composer to pin down stylistically. The generally tonal orientation of his music and the cinematic quality that made his score for The Red Violin such a success have brought him a beloved status rare among contemporary composers. Yet, it would be wrong to call him neo-Romantic; his music has deep rigor and sometimes, as in the Symphony No. 2 on offer here, a quite grim quality.

Hello buddies!
Time ago, a friend uploaded here, the most recent recording of Petrassi's complete Concertos for Orchestra by the spanish conductor Arturo Tamayo (one of the best on contemporary music at the moment), so in order to compare it with the other available recording or, if maybe you are a 'Petrassian' like me :) ,you need to listen to those performances. On the score, Tamayo's recording is much modern in concept, direct and a bit nervous and has a complete digital sound, while in the other hand, Peskó gives to those works a little misterious an dramatic sound. Enjoy!

Most followers of electro-acoustic music recognize the contributions both Bruno Maderna and Luciano Berio have made to the field, mainly due to their collaborative work Ritratto di Citta, which established the Studio de Fonologia in 1955. Fewer, however, are familiar with their individual projects from the late '50s and early '60s that clearly set them apart from their counterparts in Cologne. Berio and Maderna were both obsessed by the human voice as a basis and endpoint in electro-acoustic music…
