In the late 1970s, T-Connection was one of those bands that had one foot in funk and the other in disco. The Miami residents weren't nearly as gritty as Parliament/Funkadelic or Cameo, but they had more grit and toughness than glossy Euro-disco acts like Silver Convention, Love & Kisses, and the Munich Machine. T-Connection's albums were uneven, but the band could be exciting when it came up with the right groove. Released in 1977, their first American album, Magic, isn't perfect but has more plusses than minuses.

This spectacular compilation put together by much-loved British composer Max Richter is the first in Rough Trade Shop’s Behind the Counter series, in which some of our favourite artists create mixes especially for us using the records we sell on the shop floor. As big fans of Max, Rough Trade invited him to curate a mix, knowing he would pick out some unexpected gems. The result is a 36-track (on CD) and 33-Track (On Vinyl) compilation of soundbites, pieces of composition, interesting mixes and curious musical choices including tracks from Mogwai, Boards of Canada, Philip Glass, Aphex Twin and Low among some classical works by Rachmaninoff and Bach.

"A Fantasy Love Affair" is the debut album by Peter Brown. The album was recorded in 1976-77. It was mastered by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound. It charted #9 on Billboard's R&B charts and #11 on the Pop chart. It was successful on the disco charts as well and spawned four singles, three of which were hits, including Do Ya Wanna Get Funky With Me and Dance With Me. In the UK the album was titled "Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me" and featured a backlit silhouette of a nude woman standing in a window as its sleeve cover.
