This is the fourth proper full-length from Dark Moor, and their first after the much-publicized split that divided the band in two. Three-fifths of the band (including singer Elisa) left to form Dreammaker, the other guys recruited new members and seem determined to continue as Dark Moor. This is an enjoyable album, but Dark Moor can do better than this.
Dark Moor is a Spanish neo-classical metal and symphonic power metal band from Madrid. Formed in 1993, they produced three full-length albums before undergoing a line-up change in which three members left the band to form their own project, Dreamaker. Afterwards, the band continued under the same name, recruiting suitable replacements in time for their eponymous 2003 album. Since 2002, guitarist Enrik Garcia has been the band's sole remaining founding member. Project X is the 10th studio album by the Spanish power metal band Dark Moor, released on 6 November 2015 on Scarlet Records…
One of Spain's longest-running heavy metal exports, Dark Moor was founded in 1993 by Madrid-based guitarist Enrik Garcia, and after honing their fantasy-laced power metal via three demo tapes (1996's Tales of the Dark Moor, 1998's Dreams of Madness, and 1999's Flying), signed with the independent Arise label for the release of their full-length debut, 1999's Shadowland.
The Hall of the Olden Dreams is the second full-length album released by Spanish power metal band Dark Moor. Many of the songs are based on historic figures or events, like "Maid of Orleans", "Bells of Notre Dame", and "Quest for the Eternal Fame", among others. Musically Dark Moor could be compared to a successful merging of Rhapsody and Malmsteen.
DARK MOOR will release their ninth full-length album entitled “Ars Musica”, on June 18th, 2013. The CD was once again produced by Luigi Stefanini (RHAPSODY OF FIRE, LABYRINTH, VISION DIVINE).DARK MOOR still pay homage to the Spanish cultural heritage in songs such as “The First Lance Of Spain”, “Gara & Jonay” and “El Último Rey”, but elsewhere they go more personal, still giving high priority to their trademark melodies and elaborate harmonies. Talented singer Alfred Romero offers his best performance to date, whilst orchestrations are less classical and more grandiose and epic.
Dark Moor is back with their third album THE GATES OF OBLIVION. Formed in 1994 in Madrid, Spain, this album comes on the heels of their 2000 release THE HALL OF THE OLDEN DREAMS and 1999’s debut SHADOWLAND. With each release the band has been getting better and better with stronger songs, much better vocals and melodies. None of the speed and power has been lost at all on their third full-length release and in fact things are just better than ever for this band. This album had the collaboration of the Valcavasian Choir and the singer Dan Keying of Cydonia.
"Tarot" is the sixth full-length album by the Spanish power metal band Dark Moor. The songs of the album are all named after the Major Arcana deck in the Tarot card game. The first single extracted from the album was "The Chariot". Manda Ophius of the Dutch symphonic metal band Nemesea is the guest female vocalist on Tarot. Dark Moor hit a high with "The Gates Of Oblivion" and ever since then they have been in a slump, seemingly searching for the spark that once made them a great band.
"Autumnal" is the seventh full-length album by the Spanish power metal band Dark Moor. Unlike their previous album Tarot, for example, there is no central subject matter, and that may not resonate with some fans. If you are okay with some randomness, and you are a fan of symphonic power metal such as Kamelot, Rhapsody, the latest Fairyland album, or even Nightwish to some degree, you will appreciate the atmosphere that Dark Moor has put into Autumnal.
