Tony Bennett’s enormous range and impact on popular singing styles are honored on his joyous 90th birthday tribute. This collection features songs by vocalists like Michael Bublé, who channels the master by merging a smooth tone with bluesy feeling on "The Good Life," and Diana Krall, whose swinging but easygoing vibe on "I've Got the World on a String" rings old-school Bennett. Tony himself takes the stage, turning in an emphatic performance with Billy Joel before steering toward more familiar tunes on a closing mini-set.

Singer and pianist Kandace Springs — whose soulful singing led her late mentor Prince to praise her “voice that can melt snow” — has announced her newest project, The Women Who Raised Me, out March 27 on Blue Note Records. Produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock) — who produced Springs’ 2016 debut Soul Eyes — The Women Who Raised Me is a tribute album to the female vocalists who most impacted Springs’ music, stylings, and journey.

As they mark their 25th year together, Haden's Quartet West – not so much a side trip at this point as a comfy base to occasionally return to – offers up Sophisticated Ladies, a collection split between collaborations with superstar female vocalists and rich instrumentals, nearly all of it heavily orchestrated.
