Lacuna is the debut album by guitarist Tom Hamilton and pianist Holly Bowling. The duo, who also perform together in the acclaimed rock band Ghost Light, captured the music in one stream-of-consciousness, completely-improvised recording session at Hamilton’s studio The Ballroom in Philadelphia. Exploring the outer limits of creating music in the moment through a series of ambient excursions, Hamilton and Bowling showcase their powerful musical connection.

"Sula vie dilejo. Solo vie milejo!"Warsaw, April 1976. The little cozy train from Zurich to Moscow stops for a while in the even more inhospitable capital of socialist Poland. A well-known Londoner with his buddy Iggy Pop walks deeply impressed through a city full of bomb craters, bullet holes and coal smog. A trip in the middle of the"low" sessions, which should be worthwhile. Meanwhile, the other buddy Brian Eno sat alone at home and devised the basic melody of "Warszawa".

When these recording sessions began in the last week of May 2020, I hadn’t left my house to go anywhere other than the grocery store in over two months. I hadn’t taken a cab or subway.

This album was recorded in one afternoon and everything was a single take. We were ready! It seems that we’ve been rehearsing for this record for the last thirty years. Be ready! To be ready is the mark of a true Jazz Musician – ready for anything and to simply not-think, react! If someone hurls a baseball at your head, are you going to sit there and consider your options or are you just going to automatically duck? Well, that baseball being hurled at your head is the kind of jazz I like to play. My teacher, the great Harry Whitaker, was all about not-being- prepared and yet, of course, being ready – like a master!

At its core, Lomelda is a project about shyness – that it’s okay to feel it, how to embrace it, and laying it all out to be examined in its primary elements. Over the last few years, Hannah Read has sang about introversion in simple terms, and her latest album continues to showcase her no-fuss, contemplative songwriting. Fittingly named after herself, Hannah is taken straight from the mind of a wallflower, apprehensive and always low-key.
