On March 17, 2023, '80s hair metallers John Diva & The Rockets Of Love will release their third album, "The Big Easy." While the band on the band explored the boundaries of glam metal on their second record "American Amadeus", the five musicians return to what they do best on album number three what they do best: straightforward, refreshing rock with striking riffs, hard beats, multi-layered lyrics and a frontman in top form in top form. No frills, no bullshit, but stadium anthems for the very big stage. We've been waiting for this and finally it's here: John Diva is back! "Remember 80-something - we never seemed to miss a thing".

The diva of the title is a famous black opera singer (Wilhelmina Wiggins-Fernandez) who steadfastly refuses to be recorded. The singer is idolized by young French mail-carrier Jules (Frederic Andrei), who sneaks a tape recorder into the theater and records her performance. This is witnessed by a pair of Taiwanese criminals, who unlike Andrei wish to profit from the bootlegged recording. They begin to pursue the boy, as do a couple of home-grown hooligans who believe that Jules is in possession of some murder evidence. The serpentine plot leads to a warm friendship between Jules and the reclusive diva - and to a brilliantly photographed (by Philipe Rousselot) motorcycle chase through the subway tunnels of Paris. Diva marked the directorial debut of Jean-Jacques Beineix, whose obvious fondness for the more esoteric techniques of the Nouvelle Vague never impedes his willingness to simply entertain his audiences.

And in the middle of it all: John Diva & The Rockets Of Love. The flashy band in the style of the eighties has been blessed with the talent of bringing a breath of fresh air to classic rock music. They are the rightful heirs of an era in which Van Halen, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Scorpions, Guns N` Roses or Mötley Crüe roved around all over the planet and took apart anything they could get their hands on. Diva Ex Machina is a collection of 128 sounds for u-he’s Diva, aimed at analogue, electronic sounds for film scoring and electronica.Ex Machina is something of a special synth soundset as it includes all the patches I designed for the composer Nathan Furst to use in his score for Need For Speed. I have to thank Nathan and DreamWorks for very kindly giving me permission to share the sounds I designed for Nathan. Also in this soundset are a number of other sounds inspired by the work I was doing for Nathan.
