Multi-platinum and Grammy winning San Francisco band TRAIN is set to pay homage to one of their biggest musical inspirations with the release of the first cover album of their career, LED ZEPPELIN II. Fresh Garbage collects together all of the relevant documents from Led Zeppelin’s legendary four night set at the Fillmore West on their first tour. All of the main Led Zeppelin biographies state how important these series of gigs were for the success of the group with the public and their acceptance by the music industry. On the same bill with Taj Mahal and headliners Country Joe And The Fish, the initial scheduled called for two sets on January 9th, 10th, and the 11th but a final night was added on. The opening show coincided with Jimmy Page’s 25th birthday and the final night was when their debut album Led Zeppelin was released in the US. The tapes from these shows began to surface back in the days of vinyl but Scorpio is the first to present them in one cohesive set. The audience recordings are fair to good but given the historic importance, are more than acceptable and reveal a fascinating chapter in the band’s live history.

Contrary to popular perception, Led Zeppelin isn't exactly averse to reunions. If anything, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant can't keep away from each other. Just four years after John Bonham's 1980 death, Page laid down guitar on Robert Plant's oldies act the Honeydrippers, and not long after that, John Paul Jones joined the pair for a performance at 1985's Live Aid. That set was trashed by the public and band alike, as was their subsequent 1988 appearance at Atlantic Records' 40th Anniversary celebration, but despite these lackluster gigs, rumors of a full-fledged reunion continued to circulate well into the new millennium, even after Page & Plant recorded a pair of albums in the mid-'90s - a project that caused tension with Jones, who was unaware of the collaboration until its release…

On December 10, 2007, Led Zeppelin took the stage at London’s O2 Arena for a historic performance, headlining a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. "Celebration Day" is an exhilarating tour de force of the band’s signature blues-infused rock n’ roll, a sound that instantly became part of the legend of Led Zeppelin. Funeral For A Friend is a Led Zeppelin bootleg taken from a live show on 19 September, 1970 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The group played two shows that day, one at 2pm and another at 8pm. This CD is taken from the late show at 8pm. The audience recording was taped the day after the death of guitarist Jimi Hendrix, and Robert Plant offers condolences. This was performed a little over two weeks before the release of Led Zeppelin III, so it is quite pleasant to hear the reaction to the new material that includes "That's The Way", "Gallows Pole", "Since I've Been Loving You" and "Immigrant Song".

Dead Battery is a 2CD soundboard recording of Led Zeppelin performing live at the Hampton Roads Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia on 9 September, 1971, two months before the release of their fourth albums, so the audience was hearing "Black Dog", "Going To California" and "Stairway To Heaven" for the first time. The CD does not document the full show and "Immigrant Song" begins somewhere during the performance, midway through the first verse. This was released on a label allegedly from Japan called Flagge.
