Frank and Barny are agents of the PBI - Pornographic Bureau of Investigation, sent by Chief Rank, Head of Vice, L.A. District, to go down on the dirty crime spots of Hollywood. Mousie's Hot Shoppe is an adult bookstore where the owner is as much titillated as his customers by the material on sale. The agents are surprised to uncover that Mousie knows Chief Rank all too well, but it comes handy as he is willing to be an informer. So, the agents "discover" the Travelling House of Pleasure, a door-to-door delivery service of of Eastern Delights, the Good Time girls…..

Dans le Nord de la France, Régis Demanet travaille comme commercial à Pégase, une petite société de vente à domicile. Ce chef tyrannique d'une escouade de VRP farfelus voit débarquer sous ses ordres Jérôme Le Tallec qui n'est autre que le futur gendre du patron, Paul Beaumont. Le nouvel arrivant tente de s'intégrer et devient le témoin, adepte malgré lui, des M2thodes peu orthodoxes de ces mercenaires du porte-à-porte. Avec d'autres commis voyageurs, Balzac, Patrick Sergent et Michel Moineau, Jérôme se retrouve à sillonner les routes de France et à investir les quartiers pavillonnaires pour y imposer aux crédules l'achat des cinq volumes de l'encyclopédie fantaisiste de Ralph Spiegel, un pacifiste visionnaire et idéaliste. Régis Demanet, quant à lui, voit en la venue de Jérôme une occasion pour réaliser ses ambitions personnelles au sein de Pégase. Dans sa quête de pouvoir, il est guidé par son mentor, l'emblématique Colonel Nicholson, l'officier martial et entêté du Pont de la Rivière Kwaï.
