is the name of three X-Men comic book series from Marvel Comics, the first two of which were limited series. The ongoing series began in 2004, with its first run written by Joss Whedon and art by John Cassaday. It is currently written by Warren Ellis with art by Phil Jimenez, who takes over brilliantly from Simone Bianchi's flamboyant artwork from Ellis' first story arc. Thus far it has remained independent of and unaffected by, Marvel Universe cross-overs which Joss Whedon disliked. The ongoing series has been nominated for the Eisner awards and in fact has won several. Issue #31 is the start of Waren Ellis' second story arc, entitled, "Exogenetic."

Here's the story arc compilation, complete, given in a suggested numbered reading sequence, which you may or may not follow. Ultimatum itself is a five-issue comic book title that began publication in November, 2008 featuring multiple tie-ins and crossovers beginning with series to the last issues of Marvel Comics' three Ultimate series, (Vol. 1 #129-133), (#98-100) and (#58-60); the limited series; and several Ultimate series Annuals. It was introduced by the , published October 1, 2008. The latter is a prosaic, lengthy and very useful primer that recaps all the key events of the Ultimate Marvel Universe from the beginning, leading up to the Ultimatum event. Since it was actually in the five-issue limited series (Dec 2007-Sep 2008) where the basis for the Ultimatum event was laid, I have uploaded this limited series separately and I think they should be read first or immediately after reading the primer above-mentioned.

, sometimes rendered as or, is the title of several comic book series published by Marvel Comics, exploring "the road not traveled" by its various characters. Events in the series are considered separate from mainstream continuity in the Marvel Universe. I quite enjoy these standalone outings, primarily because I do not have to worry about related issues in sometimes awful "big-multi-issue-multi-title-crossover-earth-shaking-storyline-events" courtesy of over-indulgent editors. And I'm glad that Marvel has decided to come up with two issues every week. To keep comics readers' minds refreshed after all the over-extended and dreary crossovers, I guess.

Marvel Graphic Novels (MGN) was a volume of graphic novel trade paperbacks in an over-sized magazine format that was published from 1982 to 1993, often filled with big stories and introductions of new characters and teams, such as the New Mutants or Futurians. Unfortunately they fell to the wayside in the early ’90s, when the prestige format came around.
