It's hard to keep a good man down and, well, practically impossible to keep a superhero dead. Remember when Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, was killed in March 2007 by the shot heard 'round the world, especially if you live on the pop-culture planet inhabited by fanboys? Here's today's newsflash: He's feeling much better. On July 1, just in time for Independence Day, Marvel Comics released the first of a five-issue arc called , written by Ed Brubaker (the star scribe who killed Cap off in the first place and was also behind the compelling "Criminal" series and a memorable run of "Daredevil") and drawn by Bryan Hitch (the British artist who was co-creator of "The Ultimates" and "The Authority"). There are several variant covers available--and for this scan it's by Alex Ross--which, incidentally may be used by some to get around the no mirrors rule.

Digitally re-mastered two-fer from the Soul trio containing a pair of their original albums on one CD: Finders Keepers (1976) and Where Is Your Woman Tonight (1977). The Soul Children are highly-rated among Soul collectors for their Gospel influenced ballad recordings. The group was originally signed by Stax to replace Sam & Dave when the duo moved to Atlantic in 1968, scoring with ten hit singles and three top-rated albums. On the demise of Stax The Soul Children, now a trio of Anita Louis, John 'J. Blackfoot' Colbert and Norm West, signed with Epic and continued with an output of top-quality Southern Soul recordings. R&B chart hits came with 'Finders Keepers' and 'Where Is Your Woman Tonight', both title tracks for the Epic albums featured in this package. There Always is a veritable feast of great music for the growing market of 'Southern Soul' fans.

It's the first in a series of records focusing on the soundtrack work by Sascha Ring, who has been making music for film and television since 2008. To launch Apparat Soundtracks, Ring and his collaborator Philipp Thimm re-edited and remixed the score they composed for Mario Martone's 2018 film Capri-Revolution. (Ring also appeared in the movie, which focused on the poet Giacomo Leopardi.)

was a one-shot comic book written by Garth Ennis, with pencils and lettering by Amanda Conner and inks by Jimmy Palmiotti. It was originally published by Image Comics in 2002. A parody of mainstream superhero comics, it details the brief career of a prostitute given superhuman powers by the Viewer (himself a voyeuristic, perverted parody of Uatu the Watcher from the Marvel Comics universe) she reluctantly joins the League of Honor, comprising of: The Saint (a Superman parody); The Knight (a Batman parody); The Squire (a Robin parody); The Lady (a Wonder Woman parody); The Lime (a Green Lantern parody); and Speedo (a Flash parody). Together they fight an array of lackluster villains such as The Noun and The Adverb, until her coarse language and actions, violence, bloody retributions, and her giving The Saint a blowjob result in her being expelled from the League. She rejoins them to fight a terrorist attack, flying into space holding a nuclear bomb facing certain death (more in an effort to save the life of her young child than anyone elses in the vicinity). --
This was the original first printing run, so the related 8 page story entitled "The Pro Vs. The Ho" usually found in the later prestige formats and trade paperbacks, in which the Pro squares off with a 12-armed prostitute, is not included. As with any Garth Ennis work, graphic with explicit language--yet i found it hilarious. For .
