After a fairly long hiatus since 2008's And Winter Came, Enya returns with an album that was three and a half years in the making. "Echoes in Rain," the first single from the album, was released in October 2015 and has drawn comparisons with her best-known work, "Orinoco Flow." This record has the underlying theme of journeys, and fans of Enya will be pleased to hear that the Loxian language, devised by lyricist Roma Ryan for Enya's 2005 album Amarantine, makes a comeback on two songs on this album, both of which also focus on intergalactic and futuristic themes.

Known professionally as Enya, is an Irish singer, songwriter, record producer and musician. Born into a musical family and raised in the Irish-speaking area of Gweedore in County Donegal, Enya began her music career when she joined her family's Celtic band Clannad in 1980 on keyboards and backing vocals. She left in 1982 with their manager and producer Nicky Ryan to pursue a solo career, with Ryan's wife Roma Ryan as her lyricist. Enya developed her sound over the following four years with multitracked vocals and keyboards with elements of new age, Celtic, classical, church, and folk music. She has sung in ten languages.

Sounds of the Season: The Enya Holiday Collection (known as Christmas Secrets in Canada) is a Christmas Extended Play by Irish musician Enya. The album was released on November 23, 2006. The album was released in partnership with NBC, and was only sold in Target stores and in the NBC store in Rockefeller Center in New York City. The album was released in Canada under the name "Christmas Secrets" and only contained the first four tracks. In other countries, the album was included in a special box set with Enya's Amarantine album under the name "Amarantine: Special Christmas Edition" (however, the "Amarantine: Special Christmas Edition" only includes the first four tracks like the Canadian release).

This boxed compilation makes a great addition to anyone's music collection who's fond of the new age genre or heard of Enya before. This music is timeless and inspiring. I've been listening to these 3 cd's almost religiously for months now, and I cease to tire of them. From songs like "Aldebaran" who's notes work their way soothingly up and down my spine, to the thundering drums present in songs such as "Storms in Africa", this music will take you away to somewhere you've always dreamed of. Listening to these masterpieces is literally more of an emotional experience for me than anything else.
